About the Northwest Houston, The Woodlands and Houston Inner Loop Real Estate Market With the reasonable price of housing in our city, more and more employers are giving the nod to Houston for relocation. Northwest Houston is home to many exceptional communities and neighborhoods. Even during these trying economic times, continual new home construction and development or master-planned communities prove that people choose Northwest Houston because of the quality of life, beautiful environment, excellent school districts and close-knit communities. Northwest Houston is comprised of a variety of housing styles representing a range of prices, and for that reason, the area is one of Houston’s preferred residential communities. Just about very kind of housing imaginable exists in Northwest Houston, from wood frame bungalows, contemporary designs, master planned housing developments and country club communities, to stately mansions. Northwest Houston neighborhoods, including Gleannloch Farms, Lakewood Forest, Spring, Tomball, The Woodlands and Carlton Woods, accommodate virtually every income level and lifestyle. Homes in these neighborhoods usually range from $100,000 to $1 million and above. The Woodlands is one of the first master-planned communities in the nation. You will find full range of beautiful homes from contemporary to traditional, from apartments to high-rise condominiums, from modest to mansion, priced from the $90,000 to more than $1 million plus, located in eight charming villages. Homes are situated on winding cul-de-sacs and curvilinear streets in neighborhoods which are designed and built with respect for the natural environment. These single family properties are nestled within and among excellent public and private schools, over 100 miles of hike and bike trails, over 80 neighborhood parks, 200 acre Lake Woodlands, six championship and signature golf courses, including 27-hole Palmer Course and Carlton Woods, a major regional shopping mall and many village shopping centers, hospitals, churches, country clubs, and full-service resort and conference center. The Downtown Houston area offers a vibrant neighborhood for city dwellers. In addition to being the city’s central business district, downtown is home to exciting performances in the Theater District, Major League Baseball at Minute Maid Park and both NBA and WNBA, plus professional hockey and major concerts at the Toyota Center. Downtown restaurants abound, many with award-winning cuisine. The social scene boasts everything from sports bars and beer emporiums to chic dance clubs and music venues. Downtown Houston and nearby Midtown offer a multitude of residential options. New high-rise apartment buildings offer amenities such as a loft floor and intown convenience. Similarly, many historical buildings have been converted into lofts with plenty of history and character, along with modern conveniences. Just south of Downtown Houston, Midtown is an up-and-coming neighborhood. Numerous mid-rise (two to threestory) apartment developments as well as high-rise lofts provide convenient and stylish living options. Some lofts feature restaurants and retail shops on the ground floor with apartments above. Also in this area, townhomes offer a more private residential option, similar to stand-alone, single-family homes. Some neighborhoods inside Loop 610 now have values near $1,200 per square foot. The METRORail light rail service provides transportation throughout both Downtown and Midtown. The rail line’s service spans from the University of Houston-Downtown, on the northern border of downtown, all the way to Reliant Park, home of Reliant Stadium and the Houston Texans. The rail line includes stops in the Museum District, Texas Medical Center and Rice University. Which neighborhoods offer the best values? It's my job to help!
